ONE WEEK! Day 7

HAPPY 1st WEEK!

Hard to believe that our poodle babies are already a week old. It's hard to believe how much has happend and how much they've experienced in such a short period of time.

The puppies were born.

They learned how to nurse.

Grandmom was introduced to the babies and accepted by mom.

Auntie Nickel was introduced... but not invited too close to the whelping box.

Puppies began to be by themselves (while mom played!)

The puppies doubled (or nearly) their weight.

AND DID I MENTION THAT.... PUPPIES GREW!!
FIRST PHOTO IS DAY 1 SECOND PHOTO IS DAY 6

  1. so cute to see the differences! They all look chubbier. I guess baby orange and baby blue are almost tied neck and neck for the smallest of the bunch. Do they seem a much smaller than the bigger ones?

  2. Blue definitely seems smaller and Orange and y are definitely the dantier of the girls. Greenie has practically caught up with Purple and Pinky...the little hefty girl... seems nearly the same size of the boys. Maybe she'll take after her grandma TinTin (who I call Helga because she reminds me of a German Farm Girl :)

  3. Oh, and they aren't really as brown as the photos show. I had to adjust the lighting so you could seem them. Blue is a little bit darker black than the others and Purple, Green and Pink have a definite 'plum' cast which indicates they will probably be silver. Orange... I can't decide on.. she is between the colors of Blue and the rest. As my Mentor, Susan Fraser says, "If you want to know what color they are... wait until they're 7 weeks and shave their face!" Sheesh... I want to know NOW! :)

  4. what really is the difference between a blue and silver. Is Ico a blue, and the others? I have to say I have no clue really...

  5. TinTin is silver and her puppies are all blue. For all intents and purposes the end result of a 'good' blue looks pretty much like a silver. Silvers tend to clear face first. A platinum silver, however is very different as it is clear silver all over it's body and is very light. An example of platinum is Tinsmith (TinTIn's dad) and Tin (TinTin's grandmother).... see: Wednesday, June 30, 2010 for their pictures. I've seen one platinum that was so light it was almost white with a fine cast of silver highlighting.

  6. so basically, they are all some sort of grey? :)

not that it probably makes any difference if they are blue or silver--but let me know as soon as you come to an educated guess about them all! It will be hard wait another 6 weeks!
